JUST because you are buying an estate doesn’t mean you can’t have a sporty one.

Take the new Volvo V50. You can have it as a standard family load lugger or can go for the racy R-Design.

R-Design is something the Swedish car maker offers on most ranges – and it certainly sets those cars apart.

In the V50 R-Design doesn’t make the car go faster – but it looks as if it does.

Side skirts, a deep front valance with spot lights and a rear spoiler on top of the hatch combine to lift the car’s appearance.

Inside the V50 looks trendy. My test car’s interior was mainly in black but there was a dramatic contrast created by the panels of white leather on the seats.

I liked the chunky leather steering wheel with built-in radio control buttons, traditional Volvo ultra thin centre console stack and the logical, chunky and easy to use switches.

How do you remove the front Head Restraints of a Volvo V50?

I need to temporarily remove the Head Restraints to fit car seat covers. There must be a simple way to do this! The method is likely to be similar to other Volvos.
The question was not 'Is it safe to put seat covers on the front seats of my Volvo?'. Some of you seem confused - I am looking for an answer, not advice! I am not daft, the replacement covers have special airbag seams.
Poopbunny is spot on and will earn a best answer if I find out why the -ve battery lead should be disconnected!

IF your Volvo seats contain their own air-bags inside (like my car does)... I really would think carefully about putting on seat-covers.

Can I put aftermarket Xenon bulbs in my 05 Volvo V50?

I heard that they get a lot more hot than standard bulbs and could damage the lamp housing assembly?

Volvo sells the Xenon upgrade but does it include a new housing assembly.

I may put in the High K temp white lights instead for the HID look.

Any advice?

Stay away from the cheap aftermarket kits on EBAY, I bought a set fro my BMW 530 and they lasted about six months!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would stay away from the fake HID bulbs, they get very hot and can damage the wiring harness near the bulb and the lens assembly, plus they are not cheap and really dont last that long. The correct way to do it is buy the Kit from Volvo and it should include glass lenses, if it doesent and they say you dont need new housings than just buy the kit, it will be pricey though......

Does the Volvo V50 really need Premium Gas? Is there a lot of Maintainance required for the V50??

We don't live close to a Volvo dealer and would not want to drive all the way to a dealer to have maintenance done. Do you have to go to a dealer to get the maintenance on a Volvo V50??

is that car a turbo or not. turbo cars need premium gas if u dont have a turbo i think it would be ok. I work 4 a dealer and i no wut customers put the good shyt and that bad shyt in there turbo cars
