The New 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 continues pushing the envelope by giving us a true definition of what a rear engine car is capable of. What’s new! The 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 is has an additional 20 horsepower from its predecessor bringing it up to 435 horsepower. Equipped with a 3.8 liter flat six allowing the GT3 an impressive 0 to 60 MPH in 4.0 second range with a top speed of 194 MPH, but that's not everything. The real story on the new 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 is its technical refinement.


That new flat six 3.8-liter replaces the 3.6 liter gets and gets Porsche's New Variocam system hooked onto both exhaust intakes, improving performance throughout the rev band. Torque is dramatically improved even at high speeds of 160 + MPH.

Magneto rheological engine mounts have been added to the New 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 this allows a damping effect which can make the cabin ride smooth at high speeds. The magneto rheological engine mounts are adjusted to keep things smooth with no flex, transmitting every ounce of power to the wheels.


Other updates for the new 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 include a new aerodynamic body skirts, LED tail lights, bi-xenon headlights and lightweight two piece aluminum center brakes.

 
The New 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 will go on sale in Europe for €116,947 plus tax in May 2009 while the U.S. will receive its version in October at a price of $112,200 plus tax.

The hottest of the naturally aspirated Porsche 911 line has been unveiled, a month before it makes its debut at the Geneva motor show in early March, and there are some tasty, if not overwhelming, upgrades available for Porsche-philes beyond its still-massive two-level spoiler.

Power is up to 435 horsepower, 20 more than the previous GT3; that's provided by a larger 3.8-litre flat six, good for a 0-100 km/h time of 4.1 seconds, with a top track speed of 312 km/h, Porsche says. Plus the new-look body more than doubles the amount of downforce.

New options include active engine mounts that stiffen up when the car senses it's being thrashed — to minimize unwelcome weight transfer at the back of this rear-wheel-drive, rear-engined beast — a stiffer Sport mode, lighter wheels and a new nose-saving button that raises the front of the GT3 up to three centimetres for tackling steep ramps and speed bumps.

Hitting the market this fall, the 2010 GT3 will offer similar upgrades as last fall's 2009 911: bi-xenon headlights and LED taillights. But no PDK dual-clutch transmission option was announced, at least not yet.
