DAYTONA BEACH -- Daytona Mitsubishi may not be the largest car dealer in Volusia County.

But it was at the top of 480 Mitsubishi dealers nationwide last year. The Nova Road dealership posted 1,007 sales of new autos, edging out a dealership in Texas by just four sales. The dealership ranked 12th in the nation in 2007.

Richard Nisbett, Daytona Mitsubishi co-owner, attributed the company's success to its cars and strong repeat business.

"Both the Lancer and the Outlander have been redesigned," he said,

Also, Mitsubishi cars also are known for good gas mileage, Nisbett said, an extremely important feature in the current economic environment.
