But the snow and ice gave me an opportunity to turn that dial near the front of the Outlander's center console that reads "2WD," "4WD" and "Lock."

In 2WD, all power is sent to the Outlander's front wheels. The other modes send power to the rear wheels in varying amounts through an electronically controlled transfer clutch. Unlike many other 4WD vehicles, the Outlander can be driven on dry roads and at any speed even in Lock mode.

Do you care? Probably not. All that really matters is how well the Outlander behaves in the kind of crud we've been forced to deal with recently.

In a word: great.

What I particularly like about driving the Outlander in the crud is that it communicates well with the driver, maintaining a constant dialogue about road conditions. This enables the driver to make the minute and gradual adjustments required to maintain control in crummy conditions without poking along like a medieval ox cart on a broken wheel.

I got a kick out of pushing the Outlander to its adhesion limits on wide, empty stretches of snow-covered road because I wasn't afraid that it was suddenly going to lose its grip and start sliding like a greased hockey puck.

how to remove the front grill of a mitsubishi outlander and how to replace the stock horns?

I want to replace the stock horns for my 2006 Mitsubishi Outlander but in order to do so i have to remove the front grill. I have no problems with the electrical stuff but off course I have to be able to remove the old horns i have to access it (it is placed under the front grills). Can anyone send a step by step procedure in removing the front grill, illustrations would help a lot.

THE MITCHEL CRASH BOOK SHOWS IT ONLY PAYS FOR 2 TENTHS OF AN HOUR [12 MIN. ] TO REMOVE AND REPLACE THE GRILLE SO I SUSPECT IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY IT WILL BE EVIDENT HOW THE GRILLE COMES OFF. ONCE YOU REMOVE THE GRILLE THE HORNS SHOULD BE EQUALLY EASY TO REMOVE.
