Chevy's all-new 2009 Traverse is a midsize crossover that looks and feels more like a full-size. Available in front- or all-wheel-drive versions, the Traverse is offered in three trim levels (LS, LT, LTZ). Prices start at $28,990 for a base LS model and rise to $41,075 for a top-line LTZ with all-wheel drive. Traverse shares its "lambda" platform with corporate cousins such as the Buick Enclave, Saturn Outlook and GMC Acadia. All four are similar beneath their sheet metal, but the Chevy version of this quartet features some unique styling cues, like the wide, shield-shaped grille that shows a family resemblance to the popular, award-winning midsize Malibu sedan. Crossovers are family favorites because they package the utility of an SUV in a more modern, carlike wrapper. Like SUVs, minivans and station wagons, they trade on their flexible floor plans, and the ease with which they can be configured for people and cargo. Traverse can fit seven or eight passengers in its three rows of seating, depending on your choice of trim level. The front row's comfortable bucket seats are matched with either a pair of captain's chairs in row two or a split bench that seats three across. The middle row adjusts fore and aft a couple of inches, so it's possible to slide back enough to comfortably hold longer-legged adults. If, however you adjust for maximum legroom, you relegate the third-row split bench seat to kids-only status. Access to that row is made easier by the design of the second-row seats that tilt and slide out of the way.

GMC Acadia?

Is the GMC Acadia a full or midsized SUV? Is it larger or same size as trailblazer and envoy? Any preferences between these or equinox and why?
The Acadia is called a crossover, basically a suv on a car frame, which allows the vehicle to handle great. The Acadia is a 3 row crossover, seats 7-8. I bought one on new years eve after looking at a lot of vehicles. I traded in my 2004 Grand Cherokee & couldn't be happier. The Acadia is large & has a lot of power, plus I'm getting better mileage than with the Jeep. If you are in the market for a new vehicle, I would highly recommend that you take a look at the Acadia

This is per IRS AJCA of 2004, section 280F, and section 179. The problem is the Acadia is NOT built on a truck frame. It meets the Gross Vehicular Weight of greater than 6000 pounds, but it is sketchy in the IRS rules of whether or not it is elegible for the 25% first year deduction. How can I tell if the GMC Acadia qualifies for this IRS deduction?
I'm not aware of any SUV "incentive", especially under Section 179. Actually, there is a DIS-incentive for SUVs in Section 179 that limits Section 179 deductions on most big SUVs to $25,000 regardless of the price paid. If the Acadia is over 6,000 lbs, it's in the restricted group.

Does anyone know why a brand new GMC Acadia would have rust on the exhaust system?

I bought a new GMC Acadia about a month ago. I love the car, but I noticed that the exhaust system seems to be rusted. I read the review on other Acadias and someone else mentioned this. Has anyone had it corrected yet?
is it really rust? or does it just appear to be? Sometimes poor quality tubing can turn a rusty color after some high heated trips.
If it is rust give your local GM dealership a call and ask if they have addressed any recalls or TSB's (technical service bulletins)
