That said, it’s a Chevy truck and I’m sure it receives all the ruggedness ingrained in the breed. All trim levels can be had in all-wheel drive (which does not necessarily make Traverse conducive to off-roading) but our test vehicle came in front wheel drive. Considering the amount of time we spent on the trails, that suited us just fine (although, having AWD would have contributed considerably to our peace of mind over several snow-covered sections of highway). It should be noted that Traverse made the final three in the AJAC Best New SUV/CUV ($35k-$60k) for 2009, beating out some very good vehicles (Honda Pilot, Toyota Sequoia and Chrysler Aspen Hybrid, to name a few). The Traverse driving experience is very close to that encountered on most large sedans, and you’d be forgiven for thinking this is a raised wagon version of the new Malibu (the resemblance is uncanny!). As a result of its tall stature, there is some wind buffeting encountered but it’s nothing even remotely dangerous. We were made aware of it as we went under an overpass, temporarily blocking the wind and lending a truer track to our steering input.

Which is better?Im looking for something roomy.good mpg.
I would go with the CX9. It has better styling, is more reliable, and has better resale value. It is also better on gas.

This is why American cars can't sell.
Why are they so stupid? Do they think that they can sell this this Lambda platform crap as something different? It's the same thing as the Acadia, Outlook and Enclave....GM is still stuck in the stone age.
They did the same thing with the Pontiac Grand Am/ Oldsmobile Alero, Chevy Venture/Pontiac Montana and many other GM failures.
You keep costs down buy not making cars you don't need.
GM needs to make new and more exciting designs.
Let me try this

The are optioned differently and priced differently more than in the past.
Rebadging isn't a American thing. Its an automotive thing. VW/Audi is almost entirely a rebadge. Same goes for Nissan/Infinity and Toyota/Scion/Lexus. If you look a little deeper you will see that every major manufacturer in the world is doing it.
Bill S - What plants are GM and Ford sharing? They share a transmission and thats about it.

I am wanting to purchase a vehicle?
Nov 17, 2008 by userdefined | Posted in Buying & Selling
I want to get a 2009 Chevrolet Traverse financed at 39,000+, my credit sucks and it is bad. I can put down a downpayment of 20,000, what are my chances of getting it?
Sorry but you won't get financed. No matter how much you put down. We're in a recession. Credit is extremely tight. A lot of banks and lenders are closing up because of all the high risk loans they made to people with bad credit. Defaults are at an all time high. No one is doing that anymore.
In order to qualify for a loan today from a prime lender you must have at least a 725+ FICO score, less than 34% debt to income ratio, at less than 50% of your credit limits on your credit cards, no late pays and no other derogatory marks of any kind. For a subprime loan, it's the same except they'll accept a 650 FICO score and at less than 75% of your credit limits.
It's bad news for you. But it's the truth of what's happening in the market today.
