Woman shot, US Marshal hit by vehicle - WWLP 22News

EAST TOLEDO, Ohio (WUPW) - A 22-year-old female was shot in the neck by a U.S. Marshal after two marshals attempted to stop a vehicle at Starr Avenue and East Broadway Wednesday evening in the city's east end.

As the vehicle fled the parking lot of Hirzel Brothers Florists, the driver of the Chevrolet HHR, identified as 33-year-old Terry Moll of Toledo, hit one of the U.S. Marshals with the vehicle as the marshal attempted to stop it.

The marshal fired his weapon, sending a bullet into the neck of Sara Vandeneynde of Toledo, a Toledo Police report said. The bullet exited her shoulder.

Moll, who has an outstanding felony warrant for burglary, sped off with Vandeneynde. While the marshals called in what happened, two Toledo Police crews spotted the car heading down Oak Street driving really fast. Patrols gave chase.

At one point during the chase, Moll pushed the female victim out of the car at Front and Oak streets and continued on.

The Chevy HHR crossed the Maumee River over the High Level Bridge into the downtown corridor and crashed into a building on St. Clair and Clayton streets near the U.S. Post Office. The suspect got out of the car and tried to escape police on foot.
