Ford F-150 SVT Raptor R to run in 2009 “Best in the Desert”

After successfully finishing third in class at the 41 SCORE Tecate Baja 100, our favorite pickup - the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor R - will run in the 2009 “Best in the Desert” race series. Behind the controls will be veteran Ford truck racers and former “Rough Riders” Rob MacCachren and Steve Olliges.

Ford said that the privately funded team will run all five points races for 2009 in the Raptor R to continue testing the durability of the 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor and its production components. The race truck (the one with the ‘R’ at the end of it) is powered by a 6.2L V8 that makes a total of 500-hp. The engine is mounted to a production-spec six-speed automatic F-150 transmission.

The F-150 SVT Raptor will be available at dealerships this summer with a Flex Fuel 5.4L liter V8 that produces 320-hp with a maximum torque of 390 lb-ft. A 6.2L V8 making 400-hp and a peak torque of 400 lb-ft will be available early next year.

Showdown: Dodge Ram Laramie 4×4 vs. Ford F-150 Lariat 4×4 - LeftLane News

New from the ground up, the Ford F-150 and Dodge Ram are state-of-the-art for this segment.

We’ve chosen to compare high-end, luxury-oriented, four-wheel-drive variants of both trucks in their short bed, crew cab bodystyles. With sticker prices hovering in the high-$40,000s thanks to features like heated and cooled leather seats with power adjustability and memory, these loaded models aren’t going to appeal to commercial users. But they’ll make well-heeled ranchers and businessmen quake in their boots.

The F-150 Lariat is actually two steps down from the top dog in the Ford lineup, but we don’t see much of substance that the range-topping Platinum offers besides style. We do like the gorgeous leather trim of the King Ranch model – second from the top – but one wasn’t available for us to test, so we’re in the Lariat.

The Ram Laramie – boy, those trim levls sure do sound alike – is the most feature-laden Ram you’ll find on your dealer’s lot, unless the King of Cars and his Blue Genie salesman decide to add some, uh, accouterments.

I am planning to sell my Ford F-150; somebody can give me some tips on maximizing the selling price of my us?

I am planning to sell my Ford F-150
; somebody can give me some tips on maximizing the selling price of my used car?

First step of maximising the selling price of your used car you need knowing how much it's worth.

Look at other adverts in the publications at online car trading website you're advertising in so you don't stick out like a sore thumb with a particularly high or low asking price.

If your car is in an extraordinary good condition, furthermore, has covered fewer miles than average, your car is worth more. Use mileage-adjustment tables to work out how much you should be adding on to its price.

Whereas, a more-than-average mileage means you have to deduct some price from the asking price if you want to get people interested in your used car. Be honest with yourself about the condition of your car.

If you car has some flaws, you'll have to adjust the price accordingly if you don't want buyers to walk away as soon as they see it.

If you're lucky enough to have a highly desirable auto model that other prospects are clamouring to buy, you are able to sell it to them for more than the list price so they can jump the waiting list. A quick search of the internet should pull up some sample prices, while the classified section in Auto car trading website also carries adverts for these kinds of cars every week…

I am currently restoring a 1999 Ford F-150 and a 2000 Toyota Tacoma. What should the frames be painted in?

I have two pickup trucks in the shop with each having just undregone engine-rebuilds: a 1999 Ford F-150 and a 2000 Toyota Tacoma. Is there someone who can advise as to whether the original factory paint on the frame of each truck should be matt black, satin black or a corrugated texturized or rubberized black? Thank you in advance.

I would use POR-15 to paint the frame as it comes in gloss black and a matt black and your frame will never rust with that stuff on it and stone chips will never happen as you can hit it with a hammer and it won't chip or crack and water is perminately sealed out of the metal, it's expensive ($34.) a quart but worth it.

How do you Burnout in a 2003 Toyota Sequoia And a 1998 Ford F-150 Both are Automatic?

The F-150 is mine and the Sequoia is a friends.. i also have a 1997 ford thunderbird and i can burnout in that one easy..but when we try it in the other 2 cars the cars just "get down" or seem to lower but no tire spin?

first of all is you f-150 a 4wd or a 2wd
to do a burnout you can put a little bit of used oil down and that will help the tires start to spin. And with the car same thing little bit of oil.

And that should get you burning the rubber off real quick
