The first robbery occurred more than a year ago, about 4 p.m. on Dec. 4, 2007, when a man with a gun and wearing a ski mask walked into the Earlimart Post Office at 300 N. Church Road.

Authorities believe that prior to the robbery the man came into the branch, unmasked but wearing the same clothes he wore during the robbery, came in to case the post office, Focht said.

He is described as an Hispanic man speaking broken English, with a dark complexion. He appeared to be 28-35 years old; about 5 feet, 5 inches tall; 140-160 pounds with short, black hair; and a mustache. He was wearing navy blue or black pants, a cream-colored hooded jacket with green-and-black stripes and a dark-colored ski mask.

The morning of April 22 near the corner of Road 120 and Avenue 128 in Tipton, a postal carrier working a rural route was robbed by a man with a knife. The robber took the carrier�s gray 2005 Hyundai Accent � the carrier�s personal car used for work � with a magnetic �U.S.
