Australia rolls out the red carpet for new luxury cars that include the first Cadillac in more than 40 years, the next-generation BMW 7-Series, a new Mercedes E-Class, two Bentleys and even a baby Rolls-Royce.

BENTLEY ARNAGE FINAL SERIES

A slightly more affordable Bentley also wafting into Australia is the Arnage Final Series, which the company describes “a greatest hits” of the popular luxury options or custom accessories ordered by customers. The price tag is likely to sit in the $650-700,000 range.

Only 150 Final Series models will be built for global consumption, with the next-generation Arnage set to be unveiled later in 2009.

BENTLEY AZURE T

The Azure T is the new high-performance version of Bentley’s Arnage-based four-seater convertible and is expected to be priced close to $750,000 when sales books open in January.

The Azure T is Bentley's first T model since the 2002 Arnage T and uses the same, hand-built 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged engine with 373kW of power and 1000Nm of torque. The respective hikes of 11 and 14 per cent over the 'regular' Azure help to shave four-tenths of a second from the convertible's acceleration, as well as increasing top speed from 274km/h to 288km/h.
