2009 Nissan Altima Coupe
21.01.09
Based on this coupe's voluptuous looks, you expect it to drive like a bargain-basement Infiniti G37 . In fact, it's much more similar to the Pontiac G6 coupe and the Toyota Camry Solara. That makes sense given that the Altima is, like those cars, a variant of a front-wheel-drive sedan, and not a de-contented hot rod built on Nissan 's venerable FM platform.
That said, it's still rather disappointing to find out that such a good-looking car drives so plainly. The steering is lifeless and vague. The driveline reminds me a bit of its cousin, but that's not quite a compliment. Like the G37, the manual transmission is balky, with a clutch that's difficult to modulate. The 3.5-liter V-6 provides a familiar cacophony as it grinds and howls its way to redline. But whereas the G37's bigger V-6 at least rewards all that racket with strong performance, the Altima never really feels like it's packing its rated 270 hp. There was a time when the VQ engines were far and away the most powerful on the market, but nowadays many competitors provide similar performance with a lot less noise, vibration, and harshness.

Getting a Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SE. What are some things I can add to make my car look better?
Feb 22, 2008 by lakers_shawn | Posted in Other - Car Makes
Im getting the Nissan Altima Coupe 3.5 SE next week. i know the car is pretty loaded but there are a lot of stuff I'm sue I can do to it to make it perform better and look better.
There are some things I'm going to do like add a spoiler, Tint the windows, and lower it, but any other additional suggestions would be awesome even if there little suggestions.
Anything is appreciated and welcome!
What year? And please god don't get a spoiler that's gay. I'm answering this as passive aggressiveness for my own satisfaction against my ex. These were things he did to any car he got.
Get the mudflaps if any off, along with the pinstriping if you have it and dealership logos, leave the Nissan maybe but pop off the word Altima. Then hopefully you can find someone who knows how to wetsand and buff. You can take off your wiperblades on good weather days, most people can't put their finger on why it looks cleaner but the blades are missing. What else, nice looking exhaust pipe.
Change your interior shift knob, you can take out the black plasic that covers the gauge cluster and paint it whatever color and put it back in - it'll make the whole cluster look aftermarket though it's not. I don't know how he got it out from behind the clear piece...you'd have to figure that out I think he slid it out somehow from behind without removing the clear part.
The biggest advice though is make it look clean with clean lines. Make sure the spoiler fits the lines of that body style...please. Lower it nice on some 17's; 18's or bigger just look awful on a coupe. Tuck em, no wells left. If you lower it but don't have rims yet, roll 'dirty' so it looks like you're between your sets. lol. Good luck.

Would like to make small changes to my 2008 Nissan Altima Coupe. What are some good sites for options?

Thinking of making minor, tasteful changes. However, since this is the first year there's been an Altima Coupe I suppose they just don't offer much through Nissan.
1) The grill
2) The tires and wheels (if I change the factory tires and wheels, will this affect the tire pressure monitoring system?)
3) Rear spoiler
Tirerack dot com you can see tire and wheel combo's on a coupe with your color. Lowering springs by H&R tire rack again. go with the 19" x 9" wheels and 245/30/19 tires Just move the TPMS valve stems to the new rims and have them reintroduced at Nissan. Billet grill would look very nice (haven't seen any yet). Rear spoiler are available try Wings West. And Nissan rear spoiler has new struts to hold up the extra weight.
